Playing with others is not easy for Sebastian, even on the beach. Building castles, with my hand on his hand, is met with vigorous resistance. Smashing what others build seems to come easily though, and with a spontaneity rarely seen elsewhere.

I have learned to cherish every gesture, even the most fleeting unprompted interactions.

  1. breaking someones castle usually ellicits a predictable reaction, whereas hand over hand building of something is enormously difficult because of the amount of trust required and the uncertainty of what exactly is it that is being done, what is the other person expecting, thinking, saying, meaning...etc. VERY unpredictable :)

Try just making a mound of earth and then letting him go to do something else and then come back to make another mound of earth later.
