Discharge papers.

I think some people might be interested how it is done. So have decided to post Sebastian discharge document for other parents to have a look at and get ready for. All I have to say is that Sebastian has made more progress in last eight months that he made in last four years. It was not enough to keep him in the therapy.

It has been heart breaking for me to watch my boy functioning on the level of one year old or lower on his second, third, fourth and fiveh birthday. I was doing everything I could, and nothing seemed to make much difference. And now when he is starting to understand more, have amazingly better eye contact, when he finally masters basic living skills after months of hard work and when most importantly his tantrums and self aggression goes significantly down - he is being cut off. I am being explained that regular school will be a better place for him.

The person who told me that has a PhD before her name. She is a highly trained individual. I wander; did her training include some basic ethic theory? I just wander.

  1. This is unbelievable. A brilliant woman once said that we are losing a generation of "beautiful Minds" SHAME ON ONTARIO. On a post in the autism Ontario group a parent wanted her sons service dog present in school. A representative from the school board asked her to forward any studies indicating scientific evidence of a correlation between service dogs and performance in school. This was her diffence! OK...ABA is scientifically proven! They need to put their money where their mouth is. I'm sure if the PhD who wrote up you discharge papers had a grandson with autism, she would be breathing fire. Whats so sad it that if things keep going the way they are, soon autism will affect her family too! Only when autism strikes those in charge of Ontario/ Canada MP, MPP, Premiers,Prime ministers, will we see change! This is a crime against innocent children who work harder in a few years of life than many adults in a lifetime. Maryna, keep up your fight Dimarco and I are behind you 100%.

  2. Thank you Tanny!
I think you are so right. It is all about reaching the tipping point of awareness, and rest will be easy. Things look very difficult now though.
